Dermatologist visit through Nurx costs $43. Spironalactone 25mg 90 day supply costs $11.30 through Amazon Pharmacy (tretinoin 0.1% is $23.70, topical clindamycin is $17.30). I don’t have insurance either. - https://www.reddit.com/r/beauty/comments/17zpbly/comment/ka5hegx/ - My skin seems to tolerate tret fairly well (I never had a purging or super dry phase) so that definitely plays a part in it. But yeah, happy to share my routine! - AM: - Wash with a basic gentle face wash. I use the Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser. - CeraVe Vitamin C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid - Dermatica Azelaic Acid 20% — I kind of throw this on whenever the mood strikes and in the evening sometimes. I get terrible PIH and I really think it has helped clear some stubborn pigmentation from acne. - SPF - I use to always use the Elta MD UV Clear but I recently picked up the Bondi Sands Face Lotion for warmer days since I get sweaty easily and it’s waterproof. The Bondi Sands leaves me a bit shiny, but I don’t mind. I think some people interpret it as glowy bc I seem to get the most compliments on Bondi days lol - Cerave Moisturizer in the blue tub - PM: - Usually I’ll prep a little with a basic hyaluronic acid. I use the Isntree one. It’s not essential but nice. - Tretinoin 0.025% - Mon Wed Fri - Paula’s Choice Glycolic Acid lotion 8% - Tue Thur Sat - Most of my routine is quite cheap, but this one product is my splurge. I use the Sweet Chemistry Elasticity Reinforcing Cream, which contains regenerative bone peptides. Their white paper showing how the peptides helped heal tissue was nuts. My skin is suuuper slow to heal from cystic acne and the resulting PIH so this was a necessity for me. - Cerave Moisturizer in the blue tub, depending on how dry it is. - Daily Meds: oral contraceptive and Spironolactone to prevent hormonal cystic acne I’m glad I’m not the only one with a similar skincare routine…. Tret, Botox, spirolactone, hyaluronic acid, vit c, good moisturizer. Someone taught me this formula : low dalton & high content collagen ( type 1&3 on the market ) , chondroitin ( extract of shark nose / salmon nose for type 2 to lift facial ligament ) , placenta ( from pigs 😥 pork is not in my diet … ,although the effects are strong I stopped using it ...), Amla ( antioxidant) . Japanese low key skin supplements often has great ingredients , be aware of royal jelly it’s not for everyone . Some mentioned that collagen did not work , try marine collagen and take twice per day for at least 3 months . Occasionally add up the dose for boosting . I still take collagen & the supplements once or twice every few days . This is something I will never stop .
